BACKGROUND
Tom’s career began with a building apprenticeship, where he developed a passion for the intricate detailing of villa renovations while working with Craft Renovations. A keen sportsman, rugby took him abroad to Manchester and Ireland, where he spent five years before returning home to New Zealand with a wealth of life experience – and his wife.
Back in Auckland, Tom joined Precision Construction, combining hands-on project delivery with completing his Quantity Surveying degree.
Over the years, he has held a variety of roles with us, including Carpenter, Site Manager, Project Manager, and more recently Quantity Surveyor, working on high-end residential projects across Auckland and Tara Iti.
Today, Tom leads Precision Construction’s QS Delivery team, managing a team of QS across the delivery stage of the project lifecycle, including claims and project performance tracking.
With his strong practical background, Tom has a unique ability to balance the financial and technical aspects of construction, always looking for smart cost-engineering opportunities.
Outside of work, he’s a proud dad of two, an avid golfer, and enjoys staying connected with his old rugby and cricket clubs.
